Japanese for engineering students

Job Details

S&N Hayakawa Enterprises, a Japanese language service provider in Chennai, has tied up with Anna University to teach Japanese to engineering colleges students. The organisation was recommended by the embassy of Japan, New Delhi, and has become the university's approved teacher for Japanese as a foreign language. According to a NASSCOM study, the Japanese industry needs about two lakh software engineers, says Jasmine Hayakawa, who runs the organisation. Her aim is to ensure that Japanese MNCs can pick qualified professionals from a large pool of engineers and other academic background for their offices abroad."With Japanese multinational companies moving to India for expansion, knowledge of Japanese has grown in importance. MNCs require graduate engineers who have qualified in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 3. Students completing this course will have enough proficiency to read, write and speak in Japanese." The organisation conducts classes in engineering colleges in Kanyakumari district where over 200 students are studying the language. Classes are conducted at College of Engineering, Guindy, and Crescent Engineering College, Vandalur. The textbooks are specialised for Indian-Japanese learners. Considering the requirement of MNCs, they are commencing classes for students to appear for JLPT in December 2007. Classes are conducted during weekdays and weekends. R.SUJATHA
